DESCRIPTION: The NATO Defense College (NDC) is offering a limited number of Research Fellowshi! ps in the field of social and political sciences. This offer is open to all Partnership for Peace (PfP), NATO Mediterranean Dialogue (MD) and Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) countries. The objective is to promote scholarly research in areas of particular interest to the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC), PfP, MD and ICI Partners.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their specific aptitude and experience for carrying through a major NATO-related research project. Criteria for selection include academic qualifications, quality of research proposal, professional experience and publication record.
Candidates for MD Fellowships are invited to submit proposals in the area of Mediterranean security.
The Fellow will be located at the NDC, in Rome, Italy. Within a week from his/her arrival at the College, the Fellow is expected to discuss his/her research proposal with a senior researcher of NDC's Research Division, who will a! ct as their mentor. The Fellow will be requested to draw up a ! more det ailed research plan, which will include the research question, an outline of the thesis and a timetable. The Fellow will also discuss the potential length and nature of the written product with the Mentor at this stage.
Eligibility
Candidates for the NDC/MD Fellowships must be citizens of one of the following countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Morocco, Mauritania or Tunisia.
Candidates must have a good working knowledge of the English or French language and be computer literate.
